This paper describes a high throughput, production x-ray system for munitions inspections. Various types of defects such as cracks, voids, fuse armed status, and powder fill level are identified and evaluated. Automatic defect recognition algorithms and software have been developed to inspect the CT data, due to the large amount of data involved, and the high-throughput required.
