Our automotive x-ray inspection systems generate a competitive advantage through reduced costs and increased productivity. This technology provides reliable, accurate, high-resolution defect analysis on various materials and components used to manufacture vehicles. Metal castings and sheets, powertrain components, plastics, leather, rubber, and composites may be inspected using advanced capability x-ray imaging technologies.
Castings:
Safety-critical cast component manufacturers utilize x-ray inspection technology to verify product integrity. Casting defects such as cavities, gas, inclusion, tearing, foreign material, and sponge are found quickly and objectively using x-ray inspection. Today's systems can be integrated directly into the manufacturing process to allow fully automatic real-time inspection and can make pass/fail assessments without operator intervention.
Wheel:
VJ Inspection Systems is an industry leader in the development of wheel inspection systems. Its latest cast aluminum wheel inspection system continues this tradition. The system's unique feature is the use of a Linear Diode Array (LDA), with 12-bit (4096 gray shades) pixel depth for optimal contrast resolution. Through the use of advanced image registration, wrapping algorithms, and software, multiple views of the wheel are obtained and displayed in a single pass.
Die Casting:
Casting defects, such as porosity, shrinkage and cracks, can develop in all stages of the manufacturing process. With x-ray inspection, these defects can be identified early in the production process, reducing costs and rework.
VJ Inspection Systems has developed inspection applications for other automotive applications, such as spark plugs. Let us use our methodology and technology to build a solution that meets your manufacturing quality control problem.
